It’s Time to Reclaim & Re-Energize Our Democracy

Announcement of Candidacy

Note - This campaign ended on Election Day, November 6, 2018.

The Green Party of Indiana has announced George Wolfe, Professor Emeritus at Ball State University, as their candidate for Secretary of State in the 2018 November election. During his 32 years of teaching at the university, Professor Wolfe served as Director of the Ball State University Center for Peace and Conflict Studies from 2002 to 2006 and Outreach Coordinator from 2006 to 2014.

Dr. Wolfe has articulated a plan to end gerrymandering and voter suppression tactics in the state of Indiana, establish election-day as a state-wide holiday, provide same-day voter registration, expand early voting opportunities, and take redistricting out of the hand of politicians by establishing a nonpartisan citizens redistricting commission. He also pledges to fight against scams that target senior citizens and legally challenge laws that allow businesses to discriminate against Hoosiers who identify as gay, lesbian or transgender.

Finally, Professor Wolfe wants to reward companies that pay workers more than the minimum wage, and push for legislation that raises Indiana’s minimum wage and ties it to the rate of inflation so that each year, minimum-wage workers get an automatic salary increase.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 6, 2018. Learn more about Dr. Wolfe and his 16 point plan for Indiana.
